Friday night racing at Moonee Valley features a Group 2 event on March 4th, the 2011 Fillies Classic.
Worth $120,000 to the winner, eight fillies will contest the title over a 1600m distance.
Four of the runners have come through the Mitty’s Vanity last start while the rest have all had very different preparations.
We’ve waded through the stats and form to bring you what we think are the best picks for the 2011 Fillies Classic at Moonee Valley.
As you will see there’s plenty of value in our tips and even more if you use Luxbet.
2011 Fillies Classic Tips
Coming into the race as favourite with bookies is #7 Lights Of Heaven which hasn’t lost a race in her very short career.
She’s paying around the $2 mark at the moment with many punters thinking she is going to make it three from three.
But we said we were giving you value so that’s what we’ll do, bypassing the favourite and picking #4 Count Your Fingers at very nice $7.50 odds.
This filly was good last start coming third in the Mitty’s Vanity in a field we feel was far stronger than this.
In fact the eventual winner Southern Speed is at single figure odds in the Australian Guineas, well above the standard of any of the runners in this race.
The increase in distance will also help Count Your Fingers which has won at more than this, while Lights Of Heaven is yet to break 1400m.
Your second place bet is almost a given with #1 Placement.
All this filly needs is a bit of luck and she’ll finally win a race, but from where we sit we can only see yet another second or third placed finish for the Danny O’Brien trained horse.
